New Patients

First Visit - What to expect

Your initial visit with us consists of a comprehensive examination and gathering of records. We will become acquainted with you, discover what your goals or concerns are, and begin the diagnostic process. This includes taking a series of extra-oral photographs, intra-oral images, any necessary x-rays, tooth-by-tooth assessment, periodontal screening, orthodontic evaluation, oral cancer exam, TMD screening, and complete records to establish your starting point in our practice. We will make a recommendation for hygiene therapy based on your personal assessment. This initial assessment will take about 90 minutes.

Our hygienist initially sees new patients under the age of 14 for an examination by Dr. Tozer and hygiene care (cleaning). Typically this appointment is between 40-60 minutes.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your appointment:

• Any current x-rays taken by a previous dentist, if applicable.
• A list of medications and dosages you are presently taking.
• If you have dental issurance, bring your insurance card. This will save time and allow us to help process any claims.

IMPORTANT: A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under the age of 18.

Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to treatment (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, etc.) or if you are currently taking any medication (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).
